Sudheer Babu and Anandhi starrer Sridevi Soda Center which hit the cinemas on the 27th of August is now gearing up for its OTT premieres. The film had already locked ZEE5 as its OTT partner. Now, it seems to have locked its OTT release date. As per reports, Sridevi Soda Center will be premiering on ZEE5 this Diwali weekend. It will be made available for streaming on the platform either on the 4th or the 5th of November.
An official announcement on the OTT release date will be made by ZEE5 shortly. But the Diwali weekend premiere is for certain. The film is set to land on OTT over 9 weeks post its theatrical release which doesn’t happen quite often as several mainstream Telugu films often tend to go the OTT way 4-6 weeks post the theatrical release.
The makers of the Sudheer Babu starrer had previously announced that the film wouldn’t be landing on OTT at least for a few weeks following the theatrical release and they have abided by the same. On a related note, it is heard that ZEE5 paid a fancy price for the post theatrical digital streaming rights of the film.
Sridevi Soda Center is directed by Karuna Kumar of Palasa fame and it garnered poor-to-lukewarm reviews following its theatrical release. The film revolves around sensitive topics like class disparity and caste oppression. The makers aggressively promoted the film prior to the theatrical release and also after the release, but the box office returns weren’t on the desired level.
