Srijit Mukherjee has announced that the shooting for the ninth season of ‘Byomkesh’ has started. After the successful eighth season which was named ‘Byomkesh O Pinjrapol’, the famous detective will be seen in ‘Durgo Rohosyo’, a story less explored.
The film rights for ‘Durgo Rohosyo’ were with Shadow Films and Srijit Mukherjee was going to direct the film. But as actor Dev was roped in for the titular role, the filmmaker made an exit. He wanted to do the film with Anirban Bhattacharya only and that is why, directing the story on OTT space was a much better option. The OTT rights of the story were with Hoichoi, the platform that has produced so many popular seasons based on the detective stories.
Srijit Mukherjee is not new to the genre of detective thrillers. He has directed wonderful crime thrillers like Baishe Srabon And Chotushkone, he has also directed the Feluda stories with great dedication. There is no doubt that he will do justice to the popular show as well.
‘Byomkesh’ is one of the most popular shows in Bengal and with the unlikely story of ‘Durgo Rohosyo’, Srijit has taken a challenge. There might be some changes in the cast. Ridhima can be replaced by Madhurima Sarkar as Satyabati. Bhaswar Chatterjee has already made his debut in the role of Ajit in season 8. Anirban Bhattacharya, the muse of Srijit, has not spoken anything about the film till now. Fans are excited with the news and they are happy to see Anirban as their favorite detective character once again.
