Srijit Mukherjee has just wrapped the shooting of his upcoming directorial ‘Shotti Bole Shotti Kichhu Nei’ and fans have been speculating what the plot of the new film might be since the announcement. Now, the plot details have been revealed and fans are more excited about it.
The movie will be the remake of the 1957 courtroom drama ‘12 Angry Men’. ‘12 Angry Men’ is one of the most important film school movies that are rendered classics by cinephiles all over the world. It has already been remade in India previously. Basu Chatterjee adapted it into Hindi with the name ‘Ek Ruka Hua Faisla’ and the 1986 movie had powerful performances from actors like Pankaj Kapoor, Annu Kapoor, Deepak Qazir, K.K Raina.
Srijit Mukherjee’s version will have some wonderful actors as well. There will be Parambrata Chattopadhyay, Ritwick Chakroborty, Koushik Sen, Koushik Ganguly, Arjun Chakroborty etc. The previous two films did not have any female characters, but Srijit’s film will have a female character played by Souraseni Moitra. Other than that, he will have several other changes to the main story to keep it balanced with the contemporary sensibilities. It will be set in the present time, not in the 50s or 80s.
The title of the movie ‘Shotti Bole Shotti Kichhu Nei’ is taken from a song in ‘Baishe Srabon’, one of the most highly rated films by Srijit.
