In a recently released Disney+ Hotstar promotional video, the platform might just have hinted on something major coming up involving Shah Rukh Khan. While King Khan has been away from the screens for quite a time now, this might well be his OTT debut following the footsteps of other major Bollywood stars like Akshay Kumar, Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Saif Ali Khan, Alia Bhatt and more.
In the video released by Karan Johar, Shah Rukh is seen boasting to Rajesh Jais (‘Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi’, ‘Raazi’) about the fan crowd waving and shouting for his glimpse. But soon this smile on his face turns into a concerning frown when pointed out that he might be missing out on the oh so hot OTT clout and thus the new gen fans, while other Bollywood biggies are grabbing on to this newfound opportunity.

While the video is to be continued, Disney+ Hotstar mentions about its huge library of content including ICC T20 Men’s World Cup, blockbuster movies and exclusive new shows starring some big names of the industry except for Shah Rukh Khan.

Now this could mean a few things. Firstly, there’s IPL where Shah Rukh owns a team and this could very well be a marketing campaign for that. Secondly and this is where the excitement rises, it could very well be a brand new project involving SRK either as an actor or as a producer.
The third thing that comes to mind is that it could just be a usual promotional marketing campaign by Disney+ Hotstar featuring a fan favourite mega star doing the job for them. But amongst all these (and we could be biased about it like other SRK fans), what looks most prospective given the video content and the to be continued thing at its end, is SRK making his OTT debut on Disney+ Hotstar! And it could also involve Karan Johar given that he released the video instead of Disney+ Hotstar itself.
Meanwhile, SRK’s major upcoming ventures include Deepika Padukone and John Abraham co-starrer ‘Pathan’ and director Atlee’s next reportedly titled as ‘Jawaan’. His previous big screen appearance was in Zero (2018) which flopped at the box office.
