The latest buzz surrounding the ambitious collaboration between Shah Rukh Khan and Rajkumar Hirani is that the film’s script has been locked and is expected to go on floors soon. Reportedly, Hirani and co-writer Kanikka Dhillon have finally frozen the script of the film and are satisfied with it. Casting should begin next month, for which they have teamed up with one of Bollywood’s top casting directors, Mukesh Chabbra. If all goes well, the film is expected to take off early next year.
Hirani is soon to take the script to the lead heroine being considered for the film, who is none other than Taapsee Pannu! If she is indeed finalized, this will mark her first collaboration with director Hirani and King Khan. Reports also suggest that Kajol and Vidya Balan may also be roped in to play important roles.
The film is apparently a social dramedy set against the backdrop of immigration. It follows the life and journey of a Punjabi man and his family across two countries, namely India and Canada. While Kajol may be roped in to play the role of Khan’s wife, Taapsee Pannu is the front runner to be approached for the role of a journalist who covers his ordeal.
On the work front, SRK has almost wrapped up YashRaj Films’ ‘Pathan’ and is gearing up for South filmmaker Atlee’s next with actress Nayanthara, that goes on floors in September. Meanwhile, Taapsee who was last seen in Netflix movie ‘Haseen Dillruba’ alongside Vikrant Massey, also has ‘Looop Lapeta’, ‘Rashmi Rocket’, and ‘Shabaash Mithu’ in the pipeline.
