Recent news confirmed that Kangana Ranaut’s new directorial ‘Emergency’ has been postponed due to issues pertaining to film certification and censor board. As of now it is not clear when the film will release, but one thing is for sure, the release won’t happen in near time. This will make a huge impact in the Indian Film Industry in coming weeks. In the whole month of August, Stree 2 was the only decent Hindi film to be released and if not for the re-releases, the Hindi viewership in theatres would have dropped. September promised some big movies but now this month too hangs in uncertainty.
After a lot of delays, ‘Emergency’ was finally set to be released on September 6th. But due to issues involving the censor board, the film has again been delayed now. As of now we are not sure when the film will be released. The movie was the only decent film that was to be released in the first week of September. Also, later this week, Thangalaan will be released in Hindi dub further ensuring audience for regional cinema.

And now, Tumbbad awaits the list of films that are being re-released. The stalling of emergency will mean there will be a greater potential audience for Tumbbad in theatres. It will be released again in theatres on 13th September. Kareena’s new film ‘The Buckingham Murders’ will also be released on the same day. The stalling of ‘Emergency’ will mean more audience for it as well.
