Though on paper, it might seem that Star Trek was some sort of a counter movement against Star Wars, it paints quite the wrong picture. Though Star Wars shamefully beats Trek when it comes to the number of fans, Star Trek, through the years, did manage to be the center of a devoted fanbase.
And now, the franchise is going through some active administrative period. A recent update said that Star Trek 4 was onboard and will end the timeline, but that is not the main concern as it is the series of Star Trek which is going through some major changes.
Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, one of the most beloved series in the entire franchise by the fans, sitting at 8.3 on IMDb and 98% on Rotten Tomatoes, is now going through production of the third season. But now, it is confirmed that the show will get a fourth season soon; it is definitely a positive move ahead, especially keeping the positive fan reaction in mind.
“Strange New Worlds,” set during Captain Christopher Pike’s tenure on the USS Enterprise, gained popularity for its nostalgic portrayal of younger versions of iconic characters like Spock, Uhura, and Kirk. Season 2, featuring a musical episode and a crossover with “Lower Decks,” consistently ranked among Nielsen’s top 10 streaming originals. Executive producers expressed excitement for Season 3, set to premiere in 2025, promising more exploration and adventure aboard the Enterprise.

Star Trek’s Lower Decks was the first animation of the franchise and, as the recent updates state, it will soon be resting.
