The new trailer for Star Wars: The Acolyte Disney+ series indeed teases the rise of a new darkness. Created by Leslye Headland, the show is set at the end of the High Republic era, a period in the Star Wars timeline when the Jedis were at their prime. It stars Amandla Stenberg, Lee Jung-jae, Manny Jacinto, Dafne Keen, Charlie Barnett, Jodie Turner-Smith, Rebecca Henderson, Joonas Suotamo, Dean-Charles Chapman, and Carrie-Anne Moss.
The latest clip offers a closer look at The Acolyte’s plot. Stenberg portrays Mae, a fearless and dangerous assassin who once was Master Sol’s Padawan. Netflix’s Squid Game fame, Lee Jung-jae plays Master Sol in the upcoming Star Wars entry. We see Mae slaying Jedis one by one in the new trailer, a scenario that forces her former master to find and stop her by whatever means necessary. Though, we do not know about Mae’s backstory.
The Acolyte will also question the morality of the Jedis, who are generally considered the keepers of peace. Plus, the new clip sheds some light on a terrifying figure carrying a red lightsaber during its closing moments.
We are nearly a month away from getting Star Wars: The Acolyte on the Disney+ streaming platform. The series will come out on June 4, 2024. Stay tuned for more updates. Check out the new trailer below!
