Steven Soderbergh and HBO Max – It’s an odd yet unique combination, right? But sometimes, these kinds of combinations bring out the best of any given content.
Yes, we have just seen the trailer of No Sudden Move, the latest venture by Academy Award winner Steven Soderbergh and we were like – what motivates this man to come up with such quirky yet engaging storylines. And also as we know massive ensemble cast is always Soderbergh’s forte just like Traffic or Ocean’s trilogy, we will see a fantastic cast in this film.
Now as we learnt the No Sudden Move is about a gang of small-time criminals, who eventually winds up in a far bigger mystery than they ever imagined while doing a crime. Now they have to come up with at least some idea to rescue themselves and find out who is responsible for putting them in such a position. The overall trailer will give you a ‘gangsta’ feel as the story is set in 1955 in Detroit.
Now speaking about the casting, No Sudden Move has an insane cast. Don Cheadle and Benicio Del Toro with whom Soderbergh made ‘Traffic’ which won him the Academy Award, is returning to collaborate with him again. Apart from them the film features Brandon Fraser, David Harbour, Jon Hamm along with Amy Seimetz, Kieran Culkin, Noah Jupe, Julia Fox, Ray Liotta, Bill Duke and Craig Grant in his final screen appearance. The script of No Sudden Move is written by Ed Solomon and produced by Casey Silver, both collaborators of Soderbergh’s HBO series Mosaic.
A trailer which has Steven Soderbergh written all over it, No Sudden Move is set to be released on July 1, 2021, by HBO Max. Check out the trailer of neo-noir black comedy crime drama here:
