Stream Or Skip: Einstein and the Bomb Streaming On Netflix

If you have seen Oppenheimer, you will be glad to get a hold of this. Netflix is testing its documentary limits with their attempt to delve into the life of one of the most brilliant minds, Albert Einstein. Now, talking about titles on Einstein, Nat Geo’s attempt to work on the Genius series resulted in something iconic, but how did Netflix do?

Plot-

Forced to flee Nazi Germany, Albert Einstein, a pacifist and renowned genius, finds himself caught in a whirlwind of scientific discovery and wartime urgency. His theories, once the key to understanding the universe, now hold the power to unleash unimaginable destruction.

Haunted by the rise of fascism and the possibility of a Nazi atomic bomb, Einstein reluctantly joins forces with the Allies, urging them to develop the weapon first. But as the Manhattan Project races towards completion, the shadow of the bomb’s potential grows larger.

Torn between his pacifist ideals and the fear of a Nazi victory, Einstein grapples with the weight of his responsibility. Can he control the power he unleashed? Will the bomb be used for liberation or annihilation?

As Europe falls and the world holds its breath, the atomic age dawns with a deafening blast. Einstein, forever changed by the devastation, dedicates his remaining years to advocating for peace and disarmament, forever haunted by the consequences of his genius.

Science Documentary, Docuseries

Language-

Opinion-

If you consider yourself a science nerd, this documentary doesn’t really focus on the science part but puts the limelight on the man, Einstein. The documentary features some live footage which will definitely spice things up.

It includes interviews from real life, speeches, and letters. Though focusing on his contribution to making the Atom Bomb, the documentary also showcases the shifting dynamics in European politics.

If you ask, “Is this a perfect follow-up to Oppenheimer?” That is a million-dollar question.

Stream Or Skip-

You should STREAM IT! Though the documentary has its fair share of flaws, some scenes are extra dramatized, but that’s common for such titles. The show had a chance to explore more of the scientist’s life, which is one shortcoming.

Critics highlight the absence of counterarguments, which could result in a skewed portrayal of the narrative, but aside from that, it is indeed an entertaining watch.
