Streaming giant Disney+Hotstar is not going through a nice phase. Up until last year, they were the most dominant force in the Indian OTT industry, which they still are. However, they are not as strong as they used to be.
The loss of IPL rights and HBO content were a huge setback. IPL is streaming on Jio Cinema and HBO is also expected to stream soon on the same platform.
When Hotstar was rising as an OTT platform then they were primarily sports streaming platforms. They know exactly how to stream sports and they do it pretty well. However, things do turn out unexpectedly sometimes.
Last night during the match between Arsenal and Manchester City, several users complained about Disney+Hotstar. They declared that the streaming was inconsistent with a lot of crashes.
This can happen sometimes and it is no big deal. However, Hotstar must understand that this doesn’t continue for a long time. They must look into the complaints and put efforts to eradicate whatever reasons brought such a mess-up.
With a subscriber loss recently, we may find Hotstar a little reckless in the way they are functioning. Let’s see how they perform in the future.

@hotstar_helps @DisneyPlusHS please give up your PL broadcast rights to JioCinema or Sony if you do not have the capacity to handle 2L viewers also! Pathetic service. Issue during all matches! And do not ask for my mobile number or device detail as the issue is being faced by all
