T-Series has dropped the trailer for its upcoming Hindi film ‘Hurdang’ and Sunny Kaushal takes up a fight against reservation in education in this one. Helmed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhatt, ‘Hurdang’ will release in cinemas on 8th April, 2022.
Set in the 1990s Allahabad, ‘Hurdang’ follows the story of Daddy Thakur (Sunny Kaushal) who aspires to become an IAS officer one day but most of his time goes into getting involved in all kinds of mess at college.
Not just that, Daddu is crazily and passionately in love with his savage girlfriend (‘Nushrrat Bharuccha). In a ten year long relationship they have broken up on silliest of things and patched up multiple times but staying apart isn’t an option for them.
The only problem though is that he can get to marry her only when he achieves something big like becoming an IAS officer. But destiny has other plans for Daddu and he soon gets involved in college politics after meeting an influential student leader (Vijay Verma).
What begins from there sets Daddu on a revolutionary path. He begins his fight against the commision for reservation set up by the government. It soon turns into a revolution for equality in education and removal of caste based reservation as Daddu spreads his message to more and more young students.
Daddu is dead serious about all this and is not ready to back out. While he is scared of what the future holds for him, the struggle for the same does not frighten him at all. From getting beaten up by police while agitating and protesting to getting arrested for the same, Daddu is not ready to stop. Will this fight for justice cost him heavy? Will he loose the love of his life in achieving something much bigger than him?
‘Hurdang’ is written and directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhatt and produced by Shailesh R Singh under his banner Karma Media and Entertainment, Bhushan Kumar for T-Series and Nitesh Thakkar for Gothic Entertainment. The film stars Sunny Kaushal, Nushrratt Bharuccha and Vijay Varma in prominent roles.
