Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar’s ‘Superboys Of Malegaon’ premiered in the Toronto Film Festival and it is getting rave reviews, which is kind of expected from the film.
Deadline reports in detail about the storyline of ‘Superboys Of Malegaon’. It is about Nasir who is a passionate film-lover and pirates different clips from popular movies and blends them together to attract audiences but soon gets into trouble for that. Then he realises that he too can make a movie, parodying the popular ones of Bollywood and Hollywood. He looks for help from Farogh, his friend, who wanted to be a writer and failed in getting any breaks in Bollywood. The two finalise a script and Shafique, another town man who is diagnosed with cancer is made to star in the film and the trio make a passionate story together.
Reviews say that it is a tribute to Bollywood stories of friendships and dreams. It is a feelgood drama that actually makes you feel good and puts a smile on your face. ‘Superboys Of Malegaon’ got a standing ovation in the Festival and the crowd liked the story very much. It looks like the movie has a chance of being a big hit when it gets released in India.
