Industry legend and Padma Shri awardee actress Madhuri Dixit has essentially swept all major awards felicitated by Indian cinema. And for good reason. Following her breakout role in N. Chandra’s ‘Tezaab’ opposite Anil Kapoor, the actress cemented herself as a household name throughout the country.
Over the course of her nearly 4-decade career, she has delivered blockbusters in nearly all genres. Most recently, she debuted on the silver screen with ‘The Fame Game’, back in 2022. The crime drama was well-received by fans and critics alike. And now, two years after her TV debut, the superstar is all set to return! Only, she will return with a more sinister show, still.
‘Mrs. Deshpande’, a Nagesh Kukunoor directorial is officially in the works, and Madhuri Dixit is all set to star in it! The adaptation of a French series, the show follows the police as they recruit a serial killer in order to deduce another killer’s modus operandi and apprehend them.
While no further confirmations have been made yet, casting is still underway. No details about the streaming platform and release date have been public yet either.
For fans who cannot wait for the actress’ next, apart from this, Anees Bazmee’s ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, will also feature her alongside Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri, as well as Vidya Balan. The feature is slated for a Diwali 2024 release.
