Victory Venkatesh‘s Narappa is going to release on the 20th of this month on Amazon Prime Video. The promotions of the film are going on in full swing. Meanwhile, fans of Venkatesh are still struggling to come to terms with the decision of releasing the film on OTT. Suresh Babu, one of the producers of Narappa revealed what went behind the reason to release the movie on OTT.
“Films produced under my own banner, Suresh Productions will be released at my discretion. But, we are just partners in the production of this film. Karnan’s second-week run in Tamil Nadu got impacted due to the 50% occupancy rule. Producer Kalaipuli S Thanu decided to bring on Amazon due to the past experience,” he revealed.
“We welcomed the decision since we thought no one should be harmed by the Corona Third Wave. There is justice in the anger of exhibitors who are dissatisfied with me. But, in the present circumstances, we are not ready to send our own family members to the theater. Is it fair to ask audiences to come to theaters like that? A producer strives to bring his film closer to the people anyway. The future may be OTT but there will also be theaters,” Suresh Babu clarified.
