Two stars from the South have lined up two films of them for direct online release in the middle of the pandemic. Suriya‘s Soorarai Pottru has skipped its theatrical release during the first wave. And now, his other film, Jai Bhim is also arriving on OTT. Both the movies are bagged by Amazon Prime Video. Jai Bhim will have its OTT Premiere on Amazon Prime Video for Diwali 2021. The official announcement has happened.
Nani is the only star in Telugu to have a Direct-to-OTT release. His ‘V‘ arrived on Amazon Prime Video during the first wave. The actor has tried his level best to avoid another such release. But then, various conditions prevailing in Andhra Pradesh have prompted an online release for the movie. We are told that the makers have almost sealed a deal with Amazon Prime Video. The movie may release on the platform in the month of September. ‘V’ was also released on Amazon Prime Video.
With apprehensions of a possible third wave in India, we may see more films taking the OTT route in the coming days.
