Prashanth Neel’s action movie ‘Salaar: Part 1 – Ceasefire’ starring Prabhas in the lead role was released in theatres on 22nd December, just a day after Rajkumar Hirani and SRK’s ‘Dunki’. Along with ‘Jawan’, ‘Pathaan’, and ‘Animal’, Prabhas’ ‘Salaar’ became one of the highest grossing Indian movies of 2023. It has grossed over a whopping Rs.700 crore at the box office worldwide.
For those of you who were not able to catch the film in theatres or those who want to re-watch it from the comfort of their homes, let us tell you that Netflix has officially announced the OTT release date for ‘Salaar’. And it is surprisingly much sooner than you think. Earlier, it was thought that the movie would come out on Netflix on 16th February. But Netflix has just revealed on its app that ‘Salaar’ will begin streaming on its OTT platform from 20th January, that is, from tomorrow. That is, after four weeks of its theatrical release.
A few days back, Netflix announced that ‘Salaar’ was coming soon on Netflix in Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada languages as a post theatrical release. However, the availability of the Hindi version on OTT was not confirmed then. So, as of now, it looks unlikely that ‘Salaar’ will be streaming in Hindi from tomorrow. Regarding ‘Salaar’ Hindi version, an official announcement is expected by Netflix in the coming days.
Helmed by Prashanth Neel (director of KGF films), the basic plot of ‘Salaar’ follows the story of a violence-prone man named Deva (Prabhas), who works as a mechanic in a remote place. After his friend Vardha (Prithviraj) is about to be made his father’s successor, it leads to a coup. After that, Vardha calls for the help of his old friend Deva, leading to a violent chain of events.
