Music and filmmaking giant T-Series is on a film announcement spree these days. Yesterday, the banner revealed that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 is in the works, and even declared a confirmed release date for the film. This afternoon, T-Series went ahead and declared the confirmed release date of its previously announced film ‘SRI’. The film will hit theatres across India on 15th September, 2023. Chalk N Cheese Films are co-producers on ‘SRI’.
‘SRI’ stars Rajkummar Rao in the titular character of Srikanth Bolla, an inspiring Indian industrialist. For those who don’t know, Srikanth Bolla is blind since birth, but the man did not let his disability come in the way of achieving his dreams. With sheer willpower and determination, Srikanth Bolla founded Bollant Industries, a highly successful manufacturing company with a huge turnover.
The inspiring story of Srikanth Bolla should make ‘SRI’ an exciting watch in the theatres. Besides Rajkummar Rao, ‘SRI’ boasts an excellent cast of Alaya F, Jyotika and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles. The film is directed by Tushar Hiranandani, written by Jagdeep Sidhu and Sumit Purohit, and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar & Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani.
‘SRI’ is largely a biopic of industrialist Srikanth Bolla, and will document his struggles in getting a decent education in India and the setbacks he suffered in his higher studies in India. The film will also focus on his admission into Massachusetts Institute Of Technology, where he was the first international blind student, and chart his success in setting up a lucrative industry despite his blindness.
