Viacom 18 Studios has unveiled the teaser for its upcoming sports drama ‘Shabaash Mithu’ starring Taapsee Pannu in the lead. To be released soon, ‘Shabaash Mithu’ is directed by Srijit Mukherjee (‘Begum Jaan’, ‘Ray’).
The teaser introduces and reveals Taapsee Pannu as Mithali Raj, a top notch consistent cricketer who has been playing cricket for 23 years now and has led the women Indian cricket team as captain in four world cups. She is the only Indian cricketer to score seven consecutive 50s in one day internationals and the youngest to score a Test 200.
In the teaser Taapsee as Mithali can be seen prepping and getting ready in the dressing room to go out on the field but the face is revealed only in the last few seconds of the video.
‘Shabaash Mithu’ is a biographical film based on the life of current Test and ODI captain of the India women’s national cricket team Mithali Raj. The film traces her journey in the world of women’s cricket, portraying the struggles and success along with the moments of glory.
With a story from Priya Aven, ‘Shabaash Mithu’ is produced by Viacom 18 Studios in association with Colosceum Media Productions. The music for the film is given by Amit Trivedi.
