It was earlier being speculated that ‘Rashmi Rocket’ might have a direct-to-digital release and that the film was apparently acquired for a whopping amount by a prominent OTT player. These speculations regarding the direct-to-OTT release of Taapsee Pannu starrer ‘Rashmi Rocket’ have now been laid to rest.
The makers of ‘Rashmi Rocket’ have just announced through a new poster that the film is set to release directly on OTT on the popular streaming service platform Zee5 this Dusshera on 15th October 2021.
RSVP Movies’ post was marked with the words “From the streets of Kutch to life’s race track, she has crossed every hurdle with determination and grit. Get ready to witness the journey of #RashmiRocket, this Dussehra, 15th October only on #Zee5!” The latest development was concurrently shared by the film’s lead actress Taapsee Pannu.
‘Rashmi Rocket’ is a female-centric sports drama film helmed by Akarsh Khurana where Taapsee Pannu is ostensibly playing the role of the titular Gujarati athlete named Rashmi, who dreams of winning an international athletics competition.
The actress had revealed about the wrapping of the film back in January this year in Rann of Kutch, Gujarat while the production for the film commenced in November 2020. The film would also feature Supriya Pathak, Abhishek Banerjee, and Priyanshu Painyuli essaying important roles.
Earlier today, Sony Pictures Films India (SPFI) had announced its upcoming films slate and that included Taapsee Pannu’s another film titled ‘Looop Lapeta’. Besides, the ‘Thappad’ actress’s forthcoming projects include ‘Who Ladki Hai Kahaan’ co-starring ‘Scam 1992’ actor Pratik Gandhi, Ajay Bahl’s ‘Blurr’, Prakash Raj’s directorial film ‘Tadka’ co-starring Ali Fazal, and Anurag Kashyap’s thriller ‘Dobaaraa’, amongst other projects in the pipeline.
