Tahira Kashyap Turns Director For ‘Sharmaji Ki Beti’ With An All Female Cast

Tahira Kashyap has been known in the industry as Ayushmann Khurrana’s wife for some time, but as time went by, people have known Tahira Kashyap with a brand new identity. Tahira Kashyap has always been a writer and someone who stood for the females and has been vocal about all the other genders. Tahira Kashyap has been making her presence and opinions known to the world through her strong words both on social media and in interviews. She has carved a niche for herself to such an extent that she has become a whole brand in herself, which in itself is amazing to see. Now, coming to the world of cinema, Tahira Kashyap is getting involved in a brilliant new way.

Tahira Kashyap is the woman behind one of Bollywood’s upcoming all-female star cast movies. Titled “Sharmaji Ki Beti”, the movie will be directed by Tahira Kashyap herself. The movie will be produced by Applause Entertainment and Ellipsis Entertainment. The movie stars Sakshi Tanwar, Divya Dutta, and Saiyami Kher in the lead roles. Tahira Kashyap has been the director for many short films, but this will be her first feature film, that too based on women’s issues and led by women themselves, which makes the movie even more special.

As for the story, the movie follows three women in a multigenerational story, from different walks of life, all of who have the same surname “Sharma”. The movie will be a slice of life, comedy-drama film that will be set in urban India and will tell the stories of urban, middle-class women’s faces in their day-to-day lives. This is meant to be a story which, even though it tells about the lives of women, will be something that can strike a chord with everyone in the audience. The multigenerational factor will be an added benefit, as that will attract Gen Z, millennials, and boomers alike, just like how it is described.

It is great to see a movie being made on women that is not related to attacks on them. Even though that is much needed, movies like this too should be normalized and made so that they can bring together a greater audience, sit together, laugh at the jokes and still think about what has been going on. This is the best way to bring forward a women issue-based movie to the front. We believe “Sharmaji Ki Beti” will efficiently be able to carry that job and with such talented women behind and in front of the camera, it will be an absolute treat to watch.

As for now, “Sharmaji Ki Beti” has started its filming process and hasn’t announced any specific release dates for now.
