This Valentine’s Day we are going back in time. Netflix drama Taj Mahal 1989 is taking us back to Lucknow, as its eponymous title suggests. There are four couples with different issues, which is a pretty routine plot line these days. Well, the difference here is the period setup.
What if the contemporary problem occurred in the past, before the technology explosion? How would the people deal with those issues and come out of the troubles associated with them? These are showcased in an old-world style.
The concept is intriguing, at the same time, a little confusing, based on the trailer. We have to watch the series to know what is actually in the store.
The casting looks spot on, and so does the writing. Some of the dialogues in the trailer itself are hilarious and carry a punch. Of course, Taj Mahal 1989 is not a comedy, but the humour quotient seems to be present in proper doses.
