Zee5 has launched the trailer of their upcoming series Taj: Divided By Blood. It is going to be a big-scale series with a big star cast and budget.
The cast includes Naseeruddin Shah, Aditi Rao Hydari, Asheem Gulati, Rahul Bose, Sandhya Mridul, Taha Shah, Shubham Mehra, Zarina Wahab, Shivani Tanskale, Subodh Bhave and Aayam Mehta.
The plot starts in the old age of Akbar. Anyways “The Empire” on Hotstar talked about the story of Babur, so “Taj DIVIDED BY BLOOD” will make more sense if it tells the story of internal war within the Mughal family.
The trailer clarifies that old Akbar, played by Naseeruddin Shah is now looking for an heir to inherit the throne. However, he doesn’t follow the typical formula of bestowing the eldest son on the throne. Akbar is looking for an eligible candidate who would rule the kingdom efficiently.
This starts the war among the princes. Some want to capture the throne even after killing their siblings while some are happy in their lavish lifestyle. Some can be rejected due to their homosexual relationships as well.
Overall, this can be called a game of thrones. Mind you it is not an allegory to the HBO series.
Taj Divided By Blood arrives on Zee5 on the 3rd of March.
