The teaser for ‘Talmar Romeo Juliet’ has been revealed now. The teaser has shocked audiences and it is definitely going to be a very intriguing project. This is the third Shakespeare project coming from the Bengali industry in the last few years. This time too, Anirban Bhattacharya is backing it and there are some new faces leading the show. The absence of big stars and having young, new faces is probably going to work out in favour of the project as they seem to be fit for their roles.
Before ‘Talmar Romeo And Juliet’, the other two adaptations, ‘Mandaar’ by Anirban and ‘Atthoi’ by Arna Mukhopadhyay tried to catch the nerve of West Bengal in great depth and people were satisfied with it too. But Talma has gone beyond expectations, and the vibe that it throws off is extraordinary. The colour scheme, the sound designing, they are unlike any Shakespeare adaptation done in recent times. Romeo Juliet already has a very beautiful Bengali adaptation named ‘Arshinagar’. But looks like this is going to deliver something much different. Anirban seemed to be on a mission to recreate the Shakespeare classics that intrigued Vishal Bharadwaj too. With Macbeth and now Othello, there was a chance that we could get an adaptation of Hamlet and King Lear as well. But suddenly he comes with a Romeo Juliet project and fans are not disappointed at all.
‘Talmar Romeo Juliet’ will be coming out in November this year on Hoichoi.
