Amala Paul‘s much-awaited murder mystery film ‘Cadaver‘ has finally decided to skip theatres and release directly on OTT. Tamil film ‘Cadaver’ will release directly on Disney Plus Hotstar. Both Disney Plus Hotstar and lead actress Amala Paul took to social media to announce Cadaver’s OTT premiere. No release date has been disclosed for Cadaver yet. Our guess is that the film will release on Disney Plus Hotstar on August 5.

The Tamil film ‘Cadaver’ has been complete since long, but the makers were holding on for a theatrical release. However, with the Indian film industry in a state of flux, and films – even good ones – bombing at the box office, skipping theatres and releasing directly on streaming is the best decision for medium-budget, female-led films such as ‘Cadaver’.
Cadaver stars Amala Paul in the role of a forensic expert who is called upon to investigate confounding murders that have left the police clueless. The cast includes actors Riythvika, Harish Uthaman, Athulyaa Ravi, Adith Arun, and Ramdoss in crucial roles.
Amala Paul has also produced ‘Cadaver’, under her film production banner, Amala Paul Productions. The film is directed by Anoop Panicker, from a script written by Abhilash Pillai. Cadaver is said to be based on one of the hundreds of cases handled by late forensic surgeon Dr B Umadathan, known as the Sherlock Holmes of Kerala. Dr. B Umadathan has chronicled his most famous cases in his book ‘Oru Police Surgeonte Ormakurippukal’ (A Police Surgeon’s Memoirs), said to be the inspiration for several movies and series.
