Tamil film ‘Maaveeran’ released in theatres on 14th July, 2023. The film did decent business at the box office, apart from receiving good reviews from audiences and critics. The story of ‘Maaveeran’ centres on a cartoonist who is a coward and unable to stand for his rights. He adjusts to every situation and can’t raise his voice even when he knows he’s being exploited. Discouraged with his life as a loser, he tries to take his own life. Instead, the head injury he sustains gives him a unique superpower – an inner voice that guides him to do the right thing and take on a powerful corrupt politician. Sivakarthikeyan plays the cartoonist in the film.
‘Maaveeran’ is written and directed by Madonne Ashwin, who won two National Awards for his debut directorial film, Mandela. The film is produced by Shanthi Talkies. Besides leads Sivakarthikeyan and Aditi Shankar, ‘Maaveeran’ stars Yogi Babu, Mysskin, Sunil, and Saritha. Bharath Sankar has composed the music for the film.
