Tamil film ‘Veetla Vishesham’ has done decent business at the box office. The film released in theatres on June 17 and received much love from audiences. Veetla Vishesham had the cash registers ringing not just in India, but also in countries with a sizeable Tamil audience, for instance, Singapore. Now that its theatrical run has fizzled out, it’s time for the film to release on OTT.
The post-theatrical streaming rights for Veetla Vishesham rest with ZEE5, given that ZEE Studios is a co-producer of the film. The film will therefore stream only on ZEE5, more specifically, ZEE5 Tamil. Veetla Vishesham is slated to premiere on ZEE5 on July 15, which is this Friday itself. As per its theatrical release date, Veetla Vishesham will release on OTT exactly four weeks after its release in theatres. The four-week theatrical window has become the norm in the Indian film industry, after which a film makes its way to an OTT release, more often than not.
For those who don’t know, Veetla Vishesham is the official Tamil remake of 2018 Hindi blockbuster movie, ‘Badhaai Ho’. Veetla Vishesham is directed by RJ Balaji and NJ Saravanan, and jointly produced by ZEE Studios, Romeo Pictures, and Boney Kapoor’s Bayview Projects LLP. Veetla Vishesham stars RJ Balaji, Sathyaraj, Aparna Balamurali and Urvashi in lead roles.
