It’s not even Halloween, and a horror movie is making a huge amount of space in audiences heart, with a modest $8 million the movie “Tarot” was made and within just 10 days the movie globally grossed $20 million.
It came out as a new generation horror, movies like “Immaculate”, or “Conjuring Devil Made Me Do It” didn’t leave a mark on audiences heart but that’s not the case with Tarot.
This performance proves that, with less budget you can make a masterpiece.
The plot is based on a group of college friends who start dying in ways that are related to their fortunes, after having their tarot cards read. Now they have to work together to unveil the mystery before their time runs out.
Directed by Spenser Cohen and Anna Halberg, the movie is a mixture of horror and humour. Although the film’s jump scares are a hit or miss case, apart from that, they manage to deliver some genuine thrills.
Domestically the movie earned $3.4 million.
This is just the beginning for Tarot, now we have to keep a look on it, just to witness where the movie’s fortune leads.
