Singer – songwriter Taylor Swift has hopped on board David O. Russell’s upcoming film that already boasts a massive cast. This is Taylor Swift’s next acting stint after the 2019 screen adaptation of Broadway musical, ‘Cats’.
Hollywood seems to be going the way of the Bollywood of the eighties – when Hindi films were made up of humongous casts of A-list actors. Scores of recently announced Hollywood films boast massive ensemble casts of some of the most stellar actors of today’s times. The latest film to follow the tactic is David O. Russell’s new unnamed film.
Besides new addition Taylor Swift, the film features Christian Bale, Margot Robbie, John David Washington, Rami Malek, Zoe Saldana, Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Rock, Mike Myers, Robert De Niro, Michael Shannon and Timothy Olyphant in crucial roles.
David Russell is known for his Oscar-winning movies ‘American Hustle’ and ‘Silver Linings Playbook’. His last directorial, ‘Joy’, the 2015 film with Jennifer Lawrence, wasn’t as well received.
While the plot of David O. Russell’s new film, and Taylor Swift‘s role in it, is kept under wraps, we do know that the film is a period drama set in the backdrop of the great depression of 1929. It is produced by New Regency and distributed by Fox Studios.
