The winners of the 2023 edition of the Television Critics Association Awards (TCA) have just been announced. The winners were announced online because of the ongoing dual strikes in the US. The TCA awards are presented for recognition of excellence in television and this year was mainly dominated by HBO’s critically acclaimed series ‘Succession’ and the culinary comedy drama show ‘The Bear’.
‘Succession’, which also received the maximum number of nominations alongside ‘The Bear’ and ‘The Last of Us’ (five each), has bagged the ‘Program of the Year’ Award. And in doing that, it has beaten its small screen counterparts like ‘The Bear’, ‘Better Call Saul’, ‘The Last of Us’, and ‘Poker Face’, etc. The globally admired show has also won the ‘Outstanding Achievement in Drama’ TCA Award this year.
On the other hand, ‘The Bear’ has also bagged two important awards namely ‘Outstanding Achievement in Comedy’ and ‘Outstanding New Program’ at TCA 2023. However, the immensely popular post-apocalyptic horror video game to series adaptation ‘The Last of Us’ wasn’t able to win any award.
