ALTBalaji dropped Bebaakee’s teaser and we are sure it’s much more than you had expected it to be! It starts with Sufiyaan Abdullah (Kushal Tandon) reciting a Hindi shayari which is sharp, meaningful, and undeniably speaks the heart of Kushal’s character. Sufiyaan is a fierce lover who appears to be aggressive and adamant about being with Kainaat (Shiv Jyoti Rajput). She, on the other hand, is tired of his behavior and calls him a ‘sick man.’ Imtiyaz Alkazi (Karan Jotwani) is also seen in the promo, adding a different angle to this love story. Towards the end, Sufiyaan gives another sneak peek into his truculent attitude when he threatens to kill a man if he is seen anywhere close to Kainaat. ALTBalaji released the promo with this description – Jab pyaar nidar, dheeth aur pagal bann jaata hai tab usse pyaar nahi, Bebaakee kehte hain! To create a buzz, Ekta Kapoor and other television celebrities uploaded a video of themselves revealing what Bebaakee means to them.
Bebaakee is a social Muslim drama revolving around the stories of two powerful Muslim families. Several TV shows have showcased this theme earlier but this web series will be the first one to introduce it on a digital domain. Kainaat and Sufiyaan are two contrasting characters – the former comes from a humble background while the latter is a rich brat. Both of them being journalists exchange paths, leading to a spark of chemistry.
Bebaakee will release on Alt Balaji and ZEE5 premium with 50 episodes, in August 2020. Other cast members include Sameer Malhotra, Saloni Vora, Suchitra Pillai, Pubali Sanyal, Indraneel Bhattacharya, Pratik Sehajpal, Aditi Vats, and Ishaan Dhawan.
