This afternoon, it dropped the first official teaser of its upcoming Original film, Anaganaga O Athidhi. The film premieres on Aha Video on 20th November. Going by the teaser, it is a film that will leave its viewers shaken and stirred!
The title of the movie ‘Anaganaga O Athidhi’ when translated into English means ‘Once Upon A Time, There Was A Guest’. But going by the teaser, the story of Anaganaga O Athidhi hardly seems fairy-tale like. The almost 2-minute long teaser video is dark, very dark. It brims with suspense, thrill and a hint of noir. A stranger, the ‘Athidhi’ in the title, takes refuge in the meagre home of a poverty stricken family. The family, comprises of an old farmer, his wife, and a pretty, unmarried daughter. What follows is a series of twists, turns and taut moments that hold the viewer in thrall.
Those who’ve seen Aa Karaala Ratri, the Kannada original of Anaganaga O Athidhi, will know that the film has such a shocking twist in the end that it makes your skin crawl and break out in goosebumps. The Telugu version seems as dark and suspense-filled as the original. The background score of the movie adds to the thrill, suspense and ominous feeling of the narrative. It is grim, forbidding, and yet, compelling. It sears your mind with its raw passion.
Payal Rajput, playing the daughter, stuns in her passionate portrayal of a girl overcome with lust and greed. Chaithanya Krishna plays the stranger who takes refuge in their home. He comes across as restrained and sophisticated, compared to the primal instincts of the host family. Anand Chakrapani and Veena Sundar play the older couple of the family.
Award winning director Dayal Padmanbhan has directed Anaganaga O Athidhi. He had also written and directed the Kannada original, Aa Karaala Ratri. Arrol Corelli has provided the music, while Trend Loud has produced the movie.
