The Bengali industry is now dressing up in its festive attire, because Durga Puja is knocking at our doors, and Puja equals to new movies.
With no exception “Shastri” is set to release on October 8th 2024, but we have another competitor and that is “Tekka” set to release on 5th October 2024.
Shastri is an upcoming Bengali movie. will feature Mithun Chakraborty as lead character.
This movie revolves around Mithun Chakraborty’s character who is a struggling man who is at odds with reality, and how middle class people struggle in the society so he transformed into a Shastri with magical powers to predict the future.
But, “Tekka” belongs to a completely different genre of the story, it is a suspense thriller movie.
The story revolves around Iqlakh who just lost his job and kidnapped a schoolgirl and the story revolves around that 48 hr time period.
Now both of the movies are releasing at the same time with very different storylines. Where Mithun Chakraborty will be on “Shastri”, Dev will be on “Tekka”.
If we see it from a third person point of view then we will realise that Bengali middle class struggle stories are endless and movies based on that theme are also endless but “Tekka” has a unique story, which is kind of new to the Bengali industry because it has never been done before.
In “Shastri” the main character gets magical power to predict the future, something similar we have seen before in the movie “Aschorjyo Prodeep”.
Now, “Shastri” is directed by Pathikrit Basu, starring Mithun Chakraborty, Debasree Roy, Soham Chakraborty, Saswata Chatterjee, Sauraseni Maitra, Rajatava Dutta, Anirban Chakrabarti, Kaushik Sen and others.
And on the other hand “Tekka” is co-written and directed by Srijit Mukherji, and the film stars Dev, Paran Bandyopadhyay, Swastika Mukherjee, Rukmini Maitra and Tota Roy Chowdhury in lead roles.
We have to say both the films has avengers of the industry, but now we have to wait until puja to see who won the battle.
