Telugu film Adbutham, starring young actors Teja Sajja and Shivani Rajasekhar in the lead roles is next in line for direct to digital release. The film has locked Disney+ Hotstar as its OTT streaming partner. As per the latest reports, Adbutham has locked its OTT release date. The film will apparently be made available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar from the 19th of November.
Well, it needs to be said that Adbutham is just another one of Disney+ Hotstar’s low-key acquisitions. The film has absolutely no buzz whatsoever and not many Telugu audiences don’t have any sort of idea of the film. So, until and unless this film garners a unanimously positive response from the OTT audience and goes on to become a huge success, it will be regarded as just another poorly sorted addition to Hotstar’s Telugu library.
On a related note, Disney+ Hotstar had also acquired Nandamuri Balakrishna‘s Akhanda which is riding high on buzz. This film is expected to boost the reach of the OTT platform in the Telugu states. One thing that is for certain is that Disney+ Hotstar is taking an aggressive approach when it comes to acquiring new Telugu films. The platform is lining up a fair few Telugu films.
