Telugu film ‘Butta Bomma‘ released in theatres on 4th February, 2023. It is a remake of the 2020 Malayalam hit film, Kappela. The romantic drama film received mixed reviews from critics and audiences. While most appreciated ‘Butta Bomma’ for its visuals and cinematography, several critics also praised the inspired tweaks from the original made by the director in the remake.
Now that the film has completed its theatrical run, it’s time for ‘Butta Bomma’ to release on streaming. The film is part of the 16-film slate of Telugu movies acquired and revealed by Netflix as part of its Sankranthi announcements. So ‘Butta Bomma’ will stream only on Netflix, and on no other streaming platform. The streaming giant has just announced the ‘Butta Bomma’ OTT release date, and it is on 4th March, which is this Saturday.
‘Butta Bomma’ is directed by Shouree Chandrashekhar T. Ramesh in his directorial debut. The film stars Anikha Surendran, Arjun Das and Surya Vashistta. It is produced by Sithara Entertainments, along with Fortune Four Cinemas. The original Malayalam film ‘Kappela’ starred Anna Ben, Sreenath Bhasi, and Roshan Mathew. It was a hit, both critically and commercially. It received several Kerala State Film Awards, along with wide acclaim.
‘Butta Bomma’ centres on a young woman, who falls in love with a man after dialling his number by mistake. However, things take a surprising turn, when a stranger enters her life.
