Exclusive Telugu streaming platform Aha Video has just announced that the much-awaited Telugu film ‘The Great Indian Suicide’ has decided to skip theatres and release directly on the platform. Aha Video has also announced a release date for ‘The Great Indian Suicide’. The spooky thriller film will premiere on Aha Video on 6th October, 2023, just in time for Halloween month.
Interestingly, ‘The Great Indian Suicide’ is the new name for the previously announced film ‘Telisinavaallu’. The movie has been in the making since three years. It is now releasing directly on streaming, on Aha Video as we have mentioned above. Producers Syringe Cinema and KSV Films had even shared the first glimpse of the movie a year ago.
The Great Indian Suicide stars Hebah Patel and Ram Karthik in the lead roles. Going by the title of the movie and the first glimpse, the movie seems to be yet another take on the shocking suicides of 11 members of the same family in the Burari area of New Delhi. The mass suicides are better known as the Burari Deaths.
Disney Plus Hotstar has just concluded a series on the case, ‘Aakhri Sach’, starring Tamannaah Bhatia. Netflix had also created a documentary series on the cult suicides, ‘House Of Secrets: The Burari Deaths’.
The thriller film stars Hebah Patel as Chitra, while Ram Karthik plays her love interest. Chitra’s family decides to commit mass suicide in the hope that it will help to bring Chitra’s dead father back to life. The movie also stars Naresh, Pavithra Lokesh, Jayaprakash, among others.
Viplove Koneti has written, directed and produced the film under the banners, KSV Films and Syringe Cinema. The makers have promoted the film with the tagline “A Cult Suicide Story”.
