After keeping fans waiting for the longest time, production company Mythri Movie Makers have finally given official confirmation for the release date of ‘Veera Simha Reddy’. There’s been tons of speculation doing the rounds of social media, regarding the Veera Simha Reddy release date in theatres. But now it’s official – Veera Simha Reddy arrives in theatres worldwide on 12th January, 2023.
By announcing the Sankranthi release date for Veera Simha Reddy, Mythri Movie Makers have set up an interesting 4-way clash at the box office. The Nandamuri Balakrishna Telugu movie will vie with three other biggies for a share of the box office collections on the lucrative Sankranthi festival. Akhil Akkineni’s Agent, Vijay’s ‘Varisu’ and Ajith Kumar’s ‘Thunivu’ too have announced their intention to release in theatres on Sankranthi 2023. The clash will be especially intense in the Telugu states of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh.
There’s massive anticipation for all four films. Agent, Varisu and Thunivu have already planned to release in multiple language dubbed versions across India. The Telugu producers association, sensing the intensity of the box office clash on Sankranthi 2023, have already made a plea that maximum theatre screens should be reserved in Telugu states for Telugu movies, and not Telugu-dubbed movies.
The question uppermost on the minds of trade and industry insiders is whether any of these films will cut their risk and postpone their release date from Sankranthi 2023, in order to avoid the clash.
Another big film, Prabhas’ ‘Adipurush’ was also supposed to release on Sankranti 2023. But they’ve postponed their release to July 2023, to rework the VFX of their film. Chiranjeevi’s ‘Waltair Veerayya’ is also slated to release on Sankranti, but there’s no official announcement yet.
Veera Simha Reddy is a Telugu action film, starring Nandamuri Balakrishna in the titular role, along with Shruti Hassan, Varalaxmi Sarathkumar, Honey Rose and Duniya Vijay in pivotal roles. Veera Simha Reddy is directed by Gopichand Malineni and produced by Mythri Movie Makers.
