The trailer begins with Jaya (Kangana Ranaut) as a young, beautiful actress of the South Indian film industry whose entry into politics raised huge concerns in the patriarchal political system. Going into the flashback, the trailer shows how Jaya’s closeness to M. G. Ramachandran (MGR) (Arvind Swamy) was not liked by many but this didn’t prevent him from choosing her as his successor of the political party founded by him.
Under the effective mentorship of MGR, Jayalalitha learnt the nitty-gritties of politics and public dealing. She soon became popular as a politician, once again becoming a cause of worry for the men surrounding her. But her life turned upside down after the death of MGR.
The trailer goes on to show the various kinda of discriminations, dangers and threats Jayalalitha had to face throughout her life. Whether it was regional disparity at the national level, being dishonored in the assembly or murderous attacks, she stood firmly through it all and emerged not just victorious but even more powerful.
