Thalavan by Jis Joy is a Malayalam cop-drama that was released back in 24th May this year, will be available to stream online from tomorrow, September 10th on Sony Liv. The film is a suspense-thriller cum drama that revolves around two police officers. The film was released in May, it took quite a while for it to be released on an OTT platform.
The film is directed by Jis Joy. He is known for his light hearted films like Sunday Holiday and Vijay Superum Pournamiyum, deviating from his usual style delving into darker themes and more intense plot to create this movie. Jis Joy considered the film as his most ‘ambitious’ project till yet. The movie delivered as well to this expectation, or even surpassed it with a box office collection of 25 crores in just 21 days. The movie is about two cops, Karthik (played by Asif Ali) and CI Jayasankar (played by Biju Menon), who are both quite head-headed working as polar opposites.
A case erupts where Jayasankar is implicated in the murder of a woman and Karthik is assigned to investigate it. What follows is the investigation leading to some new unravels, new suspects and several twists in the plot.
The film evidently is quite an intense one and the intensity of the plot is displayed very accurately. The performances of Biju and Asif are entertaining to watch, especially their chemistry on screen is something you cannot miss. The supporting cast too did a great job in the film. Even the actors who come in for a very short period of time too create a huge impact through their performances. Be it Dileesh or the other cops, and even Miya and Anusree in smaller roles, they all make their useful contribution on the screen.
The film will be available to stream online on Sony Liv for tomorrow aligning with the Onam celebrations which fell on 6th of September. The film will be available in all the languages and not only in Malayalam.
