A eerie and creepy story, the movie follows a woman named Dahlia played by Jennifer Connelly, who wants to move away from her ex-husband, Kyle and in the process takes her daughter Cece as they shift to a new, weird neighborhood. This is when both Cece and Dahlia discover that they have these weird dark waters leaking through their house. Complaining to the supervisor and numerous petitions, the issue is not resolved. Things take a weird turn when Dahlia gets a nightmare regarding the leaking water and this is when she decides to take matters into her own hands.

The thriller movie follows the story of FBI investigators Ray played by Chiwetel Ejiofor and Jess, played by Julia Roberts, along with Claire, their district attorney played by Nicole Kidman. The three are suddenly torn apart after the brutal murder of Jess’ teenage daughter. Thirteen years later, after obsessively and still searching for the unknown killer, Ray discovers a brand new lead. Delivery Man follows the story of a lazy dude named David Wozniak, who drives a delivery truck for his family’s company and is happy with whatever he has as he has no aim of going beyond his mediocrity. However, his life takes an exciting turn when he learns that he is the biological father of more than 500 offspring and he also learns that many of them are suing to know more about him and find his identity. This is when he decides to hold himself accountable for his actions and to make things better he finds some of his children and starts getting to know them, but as David’s girlfriend gets to know about her pregnancy she knows she has to keep her expectations low.

The robot named Chappie now gains the ability to think and feel and as that happens, he understands human suffering. This is not liked by the higher order and them out to get him. They need him so that he becomes the last of his kind and no more such acts are carried out, ever.
27. Real Steel
A classic Hugh Jackman movie, that follows the journey of Charlie Kenton, played by Jackman who used to be a prizefighter but now lost his way as robots took over. This is when he comes across his long lost son as both of them bond, they collect scraps and build up their very own machine ready to battle it out in the ring. Now, as he bonds with his son and gets back to the world of fighting, he believes this is his one shot of redeeming himself as the fighter he once used to be.

The sport of surfing most people believe is a natural talent. The movie follows the life of a teenager Bethany Hamilton who ends up losing an arm in a shark attack. Tom believes that it is better to inform the police, but the love of Isabel keeps him from doing that. Their life changes when they meet the biological parents of the child and now all of them are a single decision away from changing their entire course of life.
18. The Adventures of TinTin
Animated movie of the super famous TinTin, follows the story of his team’s adventures in finding a precious treasure, while on the run of a hungry, greedy evil man. The movie shows TinTin buying a model ship, Unicorn. This is the same piece that evil Mr. Sakharine is eager to buy, resorting to murder and kidnapping TinTin, to get his hands on the Unicorn. As he and his dog Snowy, board a cargo ship to Morocco, they come across Captain Haddock, who is unaware of what is happening. The three escape the clutches of evil Sakharine, as they come across a Sheikh who also has the same model of Unicorn. It is then revealed that there are three such models and that there are scrolls that will lead to special treasure. Now, it is upto the team as they involve Interpol in this major quest of stopping the evil deeds of Sakharine and getting to know what actually is in the treasure, as they get ahead with it.
17. The Hundred Foot Journey
The story follows an Indian family, who is headed by Hassan Kadam. Kadam happens to be an extraordinarily talented and amazing self-taught culinary expert. When situations displace him and his family is displaced from their home country India, they move to France as they settle in a small French village and open up a small Indian eatery. Things get heated when Madame Mallory, the owner of an acclaimed restaurant 100 feet across the small eatery, sees a disruption in business. Set in the backdrop of the Cold War, an American is recruited from his law firm to defend a Soviet spy named Abel. While in court and the tense situation around, people want him executed but the lawyer somehow gets him a deal of serving time in prison so that in a perfect time he can be swapped in exchange for something. This happens when a plane is shot down by the Soviets and now they believe this is the right time to exchange the spy for their pilot that was caught by the soviets. A full on conspiracy drama, this is definitely a must watch for everyone.

Julia Roberts stars in this legal drama based on real life incidents. It follows the story of a woman who helped win the largest settlement ever paid in a direct-action lawsuit. Erin Brockovich, played by Roberts is a single mother of three who loses a lawsuit, but asks her lawyer, Ed Masry, if he can help her find a job. Ed gives her a clerical job in his office, and she runs across some information on a small case filed against a gas company. Erin begins digging into the particulars of the case, because she is convinced that some things don’t add up, and persuades Ed to allow her to do further research. This is when she discovers that there’s a lot more going on than what appears on the paper as she finds evidence that threatens the life and health of an entire community.

Philadelphia, a legal drama follows the journey of a man who has been wrongly accused and fired from his dream job of being a lawyer. Lawyer Andrew Beckett hides his homosexuality and his deadly disease AIDS from the people at his firm, because he fears, this will become his reason of demotion. But sadly, the early signs of AIDS garner attention and he is fired from his job. Angered about the issue, he is ready to sue the Philadelphia firm he worked at, but the only one on his side is a African American man who is homophobic but is his only way of getting back at his old firm. This odd pair get together to fight down the injustice and discrimination. This is one of the first mainstream Hollywood movie that talked about homosexuality and AIDS.
9. A Few Good Men
A messy courtroom drama but an absolute classic starring the likes of Tom Cruise and Demi Moore. The movie follows a murder in Guantanamo Bay, and two Marines are accuses of the crime. The person assigned is known to be lazy, arranges for a plea grant somehow. But digging deeper into the case, it is revealed that the murder and the screwup is much more real and there’s something really fishy about the situation. Keeping aside his priorities the Lieutenant tries to investigate and see what the actual mystery is.
8. The Verdict
Frank Galvin is a lawyer who is on the verge of losing everything and only left with his loneliness and alcoholism and continuous hospital visits. Suddenly his former associate Mickey Morrissey reminds him of a certain case related to a medical malpractice that he himself gave to Galvin, all prepared. With everything ready and good to go, with all the parties ready to settle, Galvin realizes one last time that he needs to do something. This is when he finds loopholes in the case and realizes this is the only time he can redeem himself as a lawyer and gets going with the case.

The U.S. container ship Maersk Alabama is ready to sail toward its destination on a day that seems like any other normal day. All of a sudden, at a certain point Somali pirates race toward the vessel, climb aboard and take everyone hostage. The captain of the ship, Richard Phillips played by Tom Hanks now needs to protect his crew from the hostile invaders, and their dangerous leader, Muse. The pirates are after the millions of dollars that the ship holds and it is upto Captain Phillips now, who must use his wits to make sure everyone on the ship survives and returns home safely.
Set in 1973, the film follows the life of a young journalist, 15 year old William, who has a deep love for music. His utter love for music, lands him an assignment with the musical magazine Rolling Stone, to interview a hip new band, Stillwater. Led by lead guitarist Russell Hammond and singer Jeff Bebe William, all of them hit it off real soon. It is this journey that gives an eye-opening insight on what life is to the 15 year old William, who goes on despite the warnings from his strict mother.

Based on the novel of the same name by author Kathryn Stockett, The Help focuses on the lives of domestic workers in 1960s America, when they were referred to as “the help”, lending the movie and the novel its name. The story follows a Southern society girl Skeeter, in the 1960s who returns from college with an aim of being a writer. She turns to her small town for inspiration as she chooses to interview the black women who have spent their lives taking care of prominent white families. Only Aibileen, the housekeeper of Skeeter’s best friend, comes forward. But as the pair continue with their talks, more join in, revealing, many have lots to talk about.

Spotlight is a film that is set in 2001, editor Marty Baron of The Boston Globe has assigned a team of journalists to investigate allegations against John Geoghan, an unfrocked priest, who has been accused of molesting more than 80 boys. The team is led by editor Walter “Robby” Robinson, reporters Michael Rezendes, Matt Carroll and Sacha Pfeiffer, as they interview victims and try to unseal sensitive documents, they come across harrowing details. A critically acclaimed war drama that went to receive various accolades since the moment it was released. 1917 tells the story of a time during World War 1, when countries were pitted against each other and battlefields were an active sight, two British soldiers received a rather daunting task to complete, besides keeping themselves alive.
