Early reviews for Prime Video’s The Boys Season 4 have surfaced, and they are indeed a troubling sign for the show. As per some online reports, the latest season from Eric Kripke definitely ups the ante in terms of blood and gore but fails to capitalise on all its competing storylines. In other words, the fourth season proves that too much of a good thing is not good. It brings back the franchise’s notable brutality and takes it to a whole new level. However, many critics have criticised the show’s overall pace, which seems really slow.
On Rotten Tomatoes, The Boys Season 4 currently holds a “Fresh” rating with a score of 77% based on 22 certified reviews. This score will likely fluctuate after its worldwide release on Prime Video on June 13th. Given the mixed early reception, exceeding 90% seems unlikely. It’s worth noting that previous seasons garnered strong critical acclaim, with Season 1 scoring 85% (106 reviews) and Seasons 2 and 3 reaching even higher marks at 97% (106 reviews) and 98% (151 reviews) respectively.
Season 4 revolves around Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) and his attempts to save Ryan (Cameron Crovetti) from his evil biological father and deranged supe, Homelander (Antony Starr). Additionally, we will see Hughie (Jack Quaid) reuniting with his mother (Rosemarie DeWitt).
The Boys Season 4 will arrive on Prime Video on June 13. Apart from the above-mentioned talents, the upcoming season will feature Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chase Crawford, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, and more. Check out the early reviews below!

The Boys season 4 has some amazing moments, but d*ck jokes, gore, and sex can't erase the ongoing issues with the show.
