‘The Boys’ Season 4 To Have More Brutality? Yes Please

The Boys‘ is one of the few truly successful superhero properties of today, though many have tried to use the superhero craze to try and make the next Marvel franchise. One of Prime Video’s biggest hits, the show is known for its unabashed violence, sex, and satire and the same helped differentiate it from the rest of the superhero shows. Now, with the addition of two new superheroes into the fray, the new season is about to get even crazier.

In the latest development, season 4 will introduce us to two new superheroes. Known as Firecracker and Sister Sage, the characters will be portrayed by ‘The Lost Symbol’ star Valorie Curry and ‘Orange is the New Black‘ star Susan Heyward respectively. Describing the last three seasons as being crazy rides would be an understatement. With the showrunner himself announcing the show is only going to get crazier going forward, the buzz around the Amazon Original’s upcoming season is huge.

Here is the original tweet of introduction to the characters:

What’s also interesting is the fact that, unlike the others, Firecracker and Sister Sage are not characters who have had an appearance in Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson’s original comics. This is in stark contrast to the last big addition to the cast-Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy, a bigoted Captain America figure whose debut was highly anticipated by fans. One guess we can take regarding the characters? They may be proud (or resentful) ex-residents of Sage Grove Center, the psychiatric hospital for Vought supes and test subjects first seen in Season 2.

Were Sister Sage and Firecracker raised in the facility? Have they managed to escape? If they did, how? Is Homelander recruiting some new supes to help him conquer the world? Season 3 was the best one yet. With Cameron Crovetti who plays Homelander’s son also promoted to series regular along with more brutality and two new supes (or baddies?), season 4 seems to have all the ingredients to be the best one yet.
