The official teaser for ‘The Continental: From The World Of John Wick’ is out now. It will be extending the John Wick universe further and extend the very successful franchise with a three part event. The Continental will be releasing this September on Peacock.
The series is developed by Greg Coolidge and it will be telling the history of Continental from the early 70s and it will show how the criminal world worked under the syndicate so long before John Wick. The Continental currency and other nuances of the series will hopefully be seen with great detail and extensive explanatory stories here. The teaser js beautiful with great cinematography and colour grading and the music adds flavour to the thrill.
The Continental is centered on the hotel used by the dangerous assassins like John Wick for their conveniences. It is like a go-to place for the assassins and whatever enmity they may have in the outside world, as per the rules, nobody can kill anybody inside The Continental. There are many rules for The Continental and breaking any of them can get you into trouble like having your Continental license canceled which happened with John Wick in the second movie of the franchise.
The hotel is iconic, a huge reason behind this is the powerful world building of the series. From the very first movie, the makers focused on world building even though a regular assassin movie did not require such intricate details into the mutual relationships and chemistries of criminals and the ways in which they deal. We can see how ‘Nobody’ could not be much of a success even though it had a similar style of storytelling and was even written by the same person who wrote John Wick. But the universe of ‘Nobody’ was not as vivid as John Wick. The currency of Continental, the blood oath, and other detailings make one believe in the story and has the audience captivated. This hard work is now paying off and the makers are now creating a John Wick Universe with the upcoming Ballerina and The Continental.
