Prime Video India is soon coming up with their first true crime documentary series Dancing On The Grave. The documentary series is based on the murder of one of the landmark cases in Indian crime history.
We are talking about the 1991 Shakereh Namazi murder case. She was the granddaughter of the former Diwan of Mysore who was buried alive by her husband who posed to be a Godman.
It is a landmark case because DNA testing was used for the first time in any Indian case. The trailer was launched yesterday and it is a really good one.
The background score is to the point and so is the overall premise. To sum up, the chances of its success could be as high as that of Netflix’s House Of Secrets.
But, Prime Video being lazy as ever did not put any effort into that. They gave less than a week for the overall marketing campaign. Nothing apart from the trailer has been unveiled on the platform.
It is not that Prime Video lacks promotional skills. They did a wonderful job with Jubilee and Farzi. But, they often ignore low budget series even if they hold potential. This is specifically true for the likes of Dancing On The Grave.
Let’s see how it turns out for Prime Video.
