The movie tells the story of an English patient who is the victim of a plane crash. He is hospitalised and tended to by a very beautiful and careful nurse. This is the end of the second World War, and the patient does not remember anything at all. The nurse tries to make him remember his identity and other things. This goes on to be a relationship that curves out really well, but is disrupted by traumas of war. The life of the patient is shown in flashbacks. The performances from Ralph Fiennes and other actors are extraordinary.
The movie is written and directed by Anthony Minghella and is adapted from the novel of the same name by Michael Ondaatje.
