The Family Man 2 Trailer: Srikant’s Nemesis From S1 Returns, Did You Catch A Glimpse Of Him?

The Family Man 2 Trailer: Srikant’s Nemesis From S1 Returns, Did You Catch A Glimpse Of Him?

For the last few days, it’s been a roller coaster ride for the creators and the fans of The Family Man. At first we came to know that Samantha Akkineni will feature in a pivotal role for the series, then last week we got the most awaited trailer of the second season, then suddenly the trailer landed into a few controversies, and amidst all that, we are eagerly waiting for the second season to go live on Amazon Prime.

Now as we all know, the trailer has got a massive number of views (more than 4 crores) and that definitely shows the interest of people growing around the second season of The Family Man. But the question is, even after watching the trailer so many times, have we observed ‘everything’ closely in it? Just for example, have we observed a shocking yet blink-and-miss glimpse of Darshan Kumar aka Major Sameer speaking on a phone? I bet, most of us haven’t. But why is it shocking? Because this could very well indicate that he is once again back as one of the nemesis to Srikant Tiwari with a bigger plan.

Now before going any further, we need to understand who this Major Sameer is. Major Sameer was one of the rogue officers in the Pakistani army associated with ISIS terrorist group, who launched Operation Zulfiqar against India in the first season. He was the major nemesis against Manoj Bajpayee’s Srikant Tiwari in the first season of The Family Man. Major Sameer eventually gets captured by Pakistani army because of an internal deal between Pakistani officials, courtesy Srikant. If you people remember in the 9th episode of the first season, we saw a bruised and beaten Sameer, captured in Pak custody, manages to call a spy in India to initiate the final mission via Moosa, the Malayalam ISIS militant and the main antagonist of the first season. That was the last time we saw Major Sameer.

Here, the questions arise. If the Pakistani Army already sent Major Sameer to jail, then how is he walking freely? And how this Pakistani rogue officer gets associated with south Indian rebels in the second season? Are these rebels including the character of Samantha Akkineni just the pawns in the new scheme of ISIS and Major Sameer? Did he make any internal deal with Pakistani CM, because last time it was the CM who ordered the capture of Sameer? If we notice very closely around 1 minute 25 seconds of the trailer, we can see an off-focus picture of Sameer and one of the rebels standing face to face, probably discussing plans. Straight to 2 minutes 7 seconds, we can see Sameer is speaking on a phone and assuming from the backdrop of the red Double Decker bus, we believe he is in London (Double Decker buses are heritage buses mostly being used to travel in London). This indicates that Major Sameer may have managed to crack some crazy deal with the Pakistani government in exchange for his freedom and now sits safely in an European city, coordinating with these Indian rebels to execute his revenge. That’s something extreme, right?

Kudos to Raj & DK and the editors of the trailer of the second installment of The Family Man for presenting it in such a way that most of the viewers may have missed the ‘’one micro-second’’ yet extremely essential appearance of Darshan Kumar aka Major Sameer.

But as these things are still assumptions, we may need to wait till 4th June to find the answers of whether or not we have assumed correctly as The Family Man Season 2 will premiere on the said date.

Do check out the trailer once again to find out Major Sameer:
