The Family Man Season 2: The Personal Struggles of an Agent FT Shrikant Tiwari

The Family Man Season 2 may be in the limelight for many reasons right now, some of them are good and some of them are controversial, and while most of the tabloids are going gaga taking sides let us discuss the beautiful character development of Shrikant Tiwari and how he one of the most realistic agents ever depicted in recent times.

While most of the filmmakers are obsessed with showing you the violence or the ‘Mr. Bond’ type kind of spy and agent, Raj and DK have done their best to humanise Shrikant Tiwari’s character which also makes him one of the most relatable and kick-ass characters with all those subtle nuances.

The highlight of Raj and DK’s filmography has always been that they have created realistic quirky and round characters. Their stories have always been rooted to the soil and they portrayed a special essence whether they were films like ‘Shor in the City’, ‘99’, ‘Happy Ending’ and their latest venture ‘Cinema Bandi’.

In the trailer, for the second installment, Shrikant is forced to get a private job so that he can be closer to his family and has to make a different type of sacrifice. This shows us the kind of personal struggles agents may have to go through regularly as they try to balance their personal and professional lives. Many of the nit-picky scenes where Shrikant gets into a fight with his wife over some petty issues, having to deal with his kids who are growing up quickly, and the world that never seems to understand why he does the things he even though he is making a great sacrifice for his country is a heartfelt rendition of the character. The Family Man 2 seems to have created a great character arc with Shrikant and Manoj Bajpayee is the perfect actor to bring out all the subtler nuances in it.

The Family Man 2 will stream on Amazon Prime on 4th June.
