The wait is finally over, guys! We have finally got our Galactus for the MCU’s The Fantastic Four. The Witch star Ralph Ineson will play the legendary planet-devouring supervillain in the upcoming Matt Shakman directional. He joins the film’s cast, which already has Pedro Pascal (Reed Richards, aka Mister Fantastic), Vanessa Kirby (Sue Storm, aka The Invisible Woman), Joseph Quinn (Johnny Storm, aka The Human Torch), and Ebon Moss-Bachrach (Ben Grimm, aka The Thing).
Created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby, Galactus is considered one of the greatest Marvel villains of all time. The character first appeared in #48 of the Fantastic Four comic book series (March 1966). Originally, Galactus was Galan, a space explorer from the planet Taa. He gained cosmic power near a collapsing star.
Galactus possesses several abilities, including cosmic energy blasts, the ability to change his form and size, travel through time and space, telekinesis, telepathy, matter transmutation, force fields, and more.
Ineson is best known for his performances in films like Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (Part 1 and 2), The Witch (2015), Ready Player One (2018), Brahms: The Boy II (2020), Dolittle (2020), The Green Knight (2021), The Tragedy of Macbeth (2021), and The First Omen (2024).
We should expect Julia Garner’s version of Silver Surfer (Shalla-Bal) to accompany Ineson’s Galactus in the movie. Galactus previously appeared in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer (2007), but this marks the character’s official introduction to the world of the MCU.
Apart from MCU’s ‘The Fantastic Four’, Ralph Ineson is also busy working with Guillermo Del Toro for Frankenstein, in which Oscar Isaac will play the protagonist. Stay tuned for more updates.
