The highly anticipated horror flick, The First Omen, has just dropped its second trailer as it nears its theatrical release. The movie revolves around a young American woman that is sent to Rome to dedicate her life and her existence to God, where she ends up face to face with an inexplicable evil that sways her beliefs. As she digs in great depth, she unravels a terrifying machination that will bring about unspeakable evil into this world.
The trailer begins with an uncomfortable looking childbirth sequence, paving the way for the usual tropes, but still more scarier than ever before. The plot presents to us a turbulent girl who goes by the name Carlita, and is wrecking the Italian church. With the usual tendencies of the Church members to deny the existence of anything unholy in their premises, the trailer continues to display the impending evil that is lurking around the corner, adding a unique layer of mystery, horror and thrill to the film.
This series can technically be considered to have had its beginnings from the 1976 original, The Omen, as The First Omen marks its return to this franchise after the 2006 remake, also named “The Omen”, and The First Omen acts as a prequel to it. The series has had a running duration of over 40 years, with the concepts of demons, supernatural, Antichrist all being an imminent central theme.
