Ribhu Dasgupta has brought a unique theme to Indian cinema with most of the titles that he has worked on to date. His recent venture is the Hindi remake of the much-acclaimed ‘The Girl on the Train’ which will be coming on Netflix on 26th February.
Ribhu Dasgupta has got himself an exclusive deal with Reliance entertainment. It is a joint venture called Film Hangar. ‘The Girl on the Train’ was the first project under this venture and 6 projects have already been added to this exciting roster.
The OTT space has given experimental creators like Ribhu Dasgupta a great place to show their talent to a much larger global audience and it looks like things are just about to get a whole lot sweeter from here.
He also has other films like Teen to his credit which had a stellar cast of Amitabh Bachchan, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Vidya Balan in lead roles. He has been a part of shows like Bards of Blood which had Emran Hashmi in the lead role. Michael starring Naseeruddin Shah and Yudh which had Amitabh Bacchan play a big businessman on the small screen are just a few of the titles that have helped him cement his place as a truly vibrant creator.
The next project under the Film Hangar venture is an espionage thriller that will go on floors shortly. Reliance entertainment has made major inroads by providing major deals to directors Rohit Shetty, Imtiaz Ali, Anurag Kashyap, Neeraj Pandey, Vikramaditya Motwane, Vikas Bahl.
Ribhu Dasgupta has always provided us with flicks that have been high on entertainment as well as quality storyline and his attempt to blur these lines which differential pure mass entertainers and a storyline with riveting content.
